Ingredients:
1/2 cup (100g) dark brown sugar
2 cups (500 ml) H2O
1/4 cup (60 ml) soy sauce
3/4 cup (200 ml) vinegar
2 lbs. (900 g) pork shoulders, cut into chunks
3-4 garlic, minced
1 bay leaf
Procedure:
- Combine the sugar, water, soy sauce and vinegar in a bowl and stir well. Transfer to a casserole and add the pork, garlic and bay leaf.
- Bring to a boil over high heat, then simmer over low heat until pork is tender, about 35 minutes.
- Discard the bay leaf and serve meat with rice. Spoon over the sauce.
