TThis reminds me of the good old song about a yellow ribbon tied around the old oak tree. Why yellow one has to know. But it is not an indication that "ya still want me", but a number of this yellow ribbon tied around the old oak trees and lofty companies mean that soon they would be cut, poor old trees. If I would choose I will not let any of them be cut down, but we had to since they were in the area where hubby's gonna build his equipment shop. So we had to let the trees fall and serve as firewoods for the neighbors, not bad after all.

MMy mind is singing Paul Davis’ “I go crazy”’s first few lines right now. Hello “friends” it’s been awhile. It has been awhile and I am back now. Guess you'll be glad to know that everything is okay and better. How have you been doing? We had been in one of the toughest times in the last few crazy weeks. But like as they say, life is like a wheel, sometimes you’re up, sometimes down, thanks to the wheel inventors, hehehe funny…
And when all the grasses wither and flowers fade, there is only one thing we can really lean and rest on to. And It really helped me. Just as It does to anybody else.

Language lesson folks. In the last few hours, I encountered the word two times. Okay enough for it. What does it mean?
Mea culpa is a Latin phrase that translates into English as "my fault", or "my own fault".I see, mea culpa. All I know of the language is the 3-letter abbreviation "ETC". kidding.

Tough love versus spanking. We grew up experiencing the Spaniards' kind of discipline in our ancestors' time, physical. Kind of "Spare the rod, spoil the child" thing. Whatever, most of America’s population thinks it’s improper to spank children, and some parents got sued for doing so. So one dad has tried other methods to control his kids when they have one of "those moments". One that he found effective is for him to just take the child for a car ride and talk. They usually calm down and stop misbehaving after their car ride together. He has included a photo below of one of his sessions with his son, in case you would like to use the technique.

it is time to reassess your relationship with your computer
1 comments Tuesday, December 04, 2007 at 2:40 AM
I find this one funny from great jokers of the day. Some say you're a computer addict, or anything, but only you know it is time to reassess your relationship with your computer when....
1. You wake up at 4 O'clock in the morning to go to the bathroom and stop to check your email on the way back to bed.
2. You turn off your computer and get an awful empty feeling, as if you just pulled the plug on a loved one.
3. You decide to stay in college for an additional year or two, just for the free internet access.
4. You laugh at people with 28.8 modems.
5. You start using smileys :-) in your snail mail.
6. You find yourself typing "com" after every period when using a word processor.com
7. You can't correspond with your mother because she doesn't have a computer.
8. When your email box shows "no new messages" and you feel really depressed.
9. You don't know the gender of your three closest friends because they have nondescript screen name and you never bothered to ask.
10. You move into a new house and you decide to "Netscape" before you landscape.
11. Your family always knows where you are.
12. In real life conversations, you don't laugh, you just say "LOL, LOL".
13. After reading this message, you immediately forward it to a friend!

When I was on my long trip, it was such a relief to finally arrive in Manila though I had to spend the night over and I prefer at the airport. We got a bit curious there when there was a man who seemed to be also confused and surely seemed disappointed. The guard said he saw the man and his wife earlier bading goodbyes and crying as he wil go abroad. We found out that he was blocked by airport guards and was not allowed inside the plane for he has sore eyes. You know sore eyes, they're communicable. But he has sore eyes for crying. Sure he got more sore eyes for disappointment that he missed his flight. Very frustrating.

My relatives had asked me when I arrived about my cat, how is she doing, and where is she now. They also know how special was my cat. Grandma also asked me about Gishi. So I told them that she was ran over, and I was not even there. The week before that, my cat has been so stressed, hiding anywhere away from all the people that came to the house. Now when I see cats, I can't help to compare them with mine. Gishi is so much more beautiful, lol.

We were watching ALIAS DVD yesterday, me, my sisters and my mother. It's the set my eldest sister bought for me since I wanted a collection of the movie. In one episode a poem was mentioned: No man is an island. The poem is real true, even to me who can cope with the lifestyle of being alone half times. We might not need someone for company sometimes, but we really need some people to keep knowledge flowing, for
No Man is an Island
No man is an island, entire of itself
every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main
if a clod be washed away by the sea,
Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were,
as well as if a manor of thy friends or of thine own were
any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind
and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls
it tolls for thee.

Keep your jewelry and baubles sparkling clean and gleaming with an easy DIY combo: mix 1 cup of warm water, 1/4 tsp. ammonia and 1/2 tsp. mild dish washing soap. Soak jewelry for a few minutes, polish lightly with a toothbrush, rinse and let dry on paper towels. It is safe for gold, platinum, silver and all stones, but not for pearls (wipe those with damp clothes).
Whatever the flavor, we always like sips every now and then.
Here is Classic margrita to try:
Take a short glass. Wet the rim with lime juice. Put the glass upside down in coarse salt so salt clings to the rim. In a cocktail shaker combine:
1-1/2 oz. silver Tequila
3/4 oz. triple sec
3/4 oz. lime juice
Ice to fill
Shake and strain into the salt-rimmed glass and garnish with the lime slice.

S
ometimes there is wisdom in not choosing any. When it is our time to meet that which our souls have been longing for intimacy, it will be the time for our deepest needs for love to be met no matter what circumstances we are in. Why start investing in a relationship when you could not see both of you for good marriage potential in the first place? It is not designed to just play around. Principled Romance! If you see any potential for him/her, the better choice, as my aunts had taught us, is select and collect, not collect and select. Select and collect is get to know the person full well first carefully, and see if it’s worth exploring deeper by a wholesome meaningful relationship; an exploration of compatibility for possible future relationship, not the other way around. There is joy in knowing a person and developing our personality, but who would want a sower of wild oats? Everything is worth the wait after prayer, it is always rewarding despite our flaws and imperfections, it will always be perfectly complementary, that's why it is called soul mates. For singles, the book I Kissed Dating Goodbye by Joshua Harris is inspiring, you may want to read and love it as we had, kiss dating goodbye, develop a new attitude toward relationships and romance, pray for your partner, and be amazed by how wonderful is it to wait when you meet your soul mate. I have been overwhelmed, and now married to the most charmingly wonderful man. Everything is worth the waiting while you delight yourself in the author of love; He will give you the desires of your heart, and guide you(us) through the path you will cherish and love.

I was finished with my dental appointments June the twenty-ninth. Sure no one wants to get as many shots a day so we made it one at a time on each side. I know everything is expensive here, especially, especially medical services, but I still asked hubby how much they charged in total. It is the same with others, even higher most probably, but no wonder when I was home my friends told me that their Japanese friends come to the Philippines to have their dentals. As I observed, they use the same instruments and the same processes, only that it is much more affordable in the Philippines. But after all, the amount we paid is still really worth it. We are here and are being here. :-)

Lately I've been winning battles left and right, But even winners can get wounded in the fight. People say that I'm amazing, Strong beyond my years, But they don't see inside of me, I'm hiding all the tears.... They don't know that I go running home when I fall down. They don't know who picks me up when no one is around. I drop my sword and cry for just a while, 'Cause deep inside this armor, The warrior is a child.
Unafraid because His armor is the best, But even soldiers need a quiet place to rest. People say that I'm amazing, Never face retreat, But they don't see the enemies, That lay me at His feet... They don't know that I go running home when I fall down, They don't know who picks me up when no one is around, I drop my sword and cry for just a while , 'Cause deep inside this armor, the warrior is a child
They don't know that I go running home when I fall down, They don't know who picks me up when no one is around, I drop my sword and look up for a smile , 'Cause deep inside this armor, Deep inside this armor, Deep inside this armor, The Warrior is a Child - by twila paris

Hubby gave me a T1-89 Titanium from Texas Instruments on my birthday last February. It's the most powerful T1 graphing calculator allowed on many AP exams and other College Board tests. It is also in preparation for my Masters Engineering course. So powerful and advanced it has a dummy's guide book in addition to its manual. "Reference for the rest of us", for "dummies" as it is, it dashed some humor and fun amidst the complexity of the technicality of it (be going into details later on). This one is very funny I can't help but laugh my laughter-producing laughter every time I open the book. Let's get technical:

Dang! :D

Yeah, it's the Philippine Peso against the US Dollar. Looking at its one-year graph, it has been increasing its exchange rate from 52.3 Pesos to a Dollar July last year (I remember it plunged to 55), to 46.40 as of today (June 15, 2007). This is "good" for the Philippines because it is a sign that the Philippine economy is catching up; the Philippine Peso is doing really strong against the US Dollar. They say this is caused by the millions of Dollars worth of remittance sent by Overseas Filipinos and the Government says it’s also because of President Gloria Arroyo’s excellent service (even though she is / deemed as "fake president") in handling our country’s economy. But honestly, selfish might it be to say, but for the sake of those in abroad and all Overseas Filipino Workers sending bucks home, wish the rate is higher; one peso or even few cents over it will make a big difference; it really hurts Filipinos working abroad and the local people who are also earning dollars because the value of each dollar is getting really low every day. Break-even, the Government who relies heavy on remittances from OFW's are only too much aware that they are losing remarkable percentage on the total remittance value. If it is good for the economy and the Philippines as a whole, so be it and be it, as long as they don't fall into some people's pockets.

I am not on this earth by chance,
I am here on a purpose,
And that purpose is to grow into a mountain!
And not to shrink into a grain of sand......
Within me burns a flame,
That has been passed from generations uncounted,
And its heat is a constant irritation to my spirit,
To do better, and I WILL.
I just wrote this from memory, but I see now that the original scroll of Og Mandino contained more than that, but this is what my high school English teacher taught us as a poem that I will never forget. This is just so powerful, and has been on the back of my mind since then, that every time I automatically recite it silently, I will always hold my head up, for I indeed, am nature's greatest miracle. And so are you... Be well.

If I could go back to India, the place where I will definitely see again is the Nehru Planetarium. The Nehru Planetarium is another major attraction I had visited on my Mumbai travel. I had enjoyed the very educational and amazingly beautiful shows in the sky that I want to go there again someday.
The air-conditioned sky theatre has a dome-shaped screen made of fibre glass with 26 curved segments and one million hand-drilled holes for clear acoustics. The sky theatre with a capacity of seating 270 people is essentially meant for screening taped and live public shows on various aspects of astronomy. Inside, various cubicles estimate your weight on each of the nine planets of the Solar System while in the domed interior; daily shows uncover the timeless mysteries of the cosmos. It recreates an image of the sky as seen from anywhere on the earth, at any time- past, present or future. Some of these include our cosmic heritage, the solar system, Halley’s Comet and the life story of a star, the famous sky theater show 'Hide and Seek in the Sky'. The Planetarium is currently running the 31st sky theatre programme "AWESOME UNIVERSE”. So awesomely amazing. No wonder everyone, adults and children love the organized taped shows on topics that is of interest to the general public that is why it is on great demand.
In the centre of the theatre is a well, housing the Carl Zeiss Spaceflight Master projector placed on a hydraulic lift which enables it to come up during the shows. The gallery around the sky theatre helps in locating the slide and special effects projectors. Besides the sky theatre, the Planetarium also has an exhibit area that displays many interactive models and pictures. Visitors have the rare privilege of looking at the historic space module Soyuz T-10 which carried India’s first cosmonaut Rakesh Sharma, to space along with his space suit and mission journal. Event-based photo exhibitions are also mounted from time to time.
In the meanwhile, the technology marched at a growing space bringing new ideas and means. To keep abreast with the new technology, Nehru Centre has installed Digistar-3 Planetarium equipment replacing Carl Zeiss Universal Projector, purchased from Evans & Sutherland, of USA.
This new equipment is basically a bank of eight computers that have the latest database of the sky loaded onto them. All the advantages of digital imagery are thus brought to the fingertips of the operator. The computers send the information to six high-resolution video projectors that cover the entire dome. Digistar-3 system has 5.1 channel surround sound.
Isn't that an amazing experience?

I don't want to be disappointed but some things are really meant to be in the way they are happening off our side. And so be it and be it. As I am not perfect, so we can't fully trust other people too. Just the way it is, one word we let go, we can't get it back again, like a feather in the wind, it will be somewhere beyond our reach for repair. Sometimes it just takes fraction of a moment to hold it back but sometimes we can be real weak human to think of just what we think may please us. But we still have some within to hand to mend the patches. There is always a second chance. And tomorrow is mine.
